Round Two Goes to Obama

The President brought it tonight. I cannot think of a segment where Obama did not win the debate. He displayed a near-perfect balance of aggressiveness, charm, and poise. This format clearly favored Obama’s style; he looked quite comfortable to addressing voters directly, and used the space available to roam around freely, unencumbered by a podium.

Mitt Romney looked uncomfortable without a podium. He stuttered quite a bit, and was clearly off balance from the President’s attacks. His answers, especially on women’s issues were far from direct. I thought his tax answers were far from sufficient to address the Presidents criticisms.

Overall, I believe this round went to President Obama. How much of, if any, a boost this provides to the President’s campaign remains to be seen. At the least I think this will end his free fall in the polls.
